The Indiana driver safety program works in 3 ways:

  • You can satisfy a court or BMV order to attend a traffic school
  • You can prevent violation points from appearing on your driving record (with permission from the court)

  • You may also take this course voluntarily and earn a possible reduction on your insurance rates

Regardless of your reason for taking this course, we’ve highlighted the exact steps you’ll have to take for each circumstance. With this guide, you’ll get from point A to point B quickly and easily, no stress involved!

How to Meet a Court or BMV Requirement

  2. Enroll in and complete Online Indiana Driver Safety Program.

  3. Check your driving record.

It’s a good idea to wait at least 2-3 weeks before checking your record to give the BMV time to process your course completion. At that time, you should ensure that you’ve received credit for your course.
