Details[edit]

All twelve teams and twenty-four drivers that started the 2011 season are featured in the game, though mid-season driver changes did not take place due to licensing restrictions. The entire calendar of nineteen circuits from the 2011 season is present, including the new Buddh International Circuit in India.[3][4] Certain circuits also feature day-to-night transitions.

At E3, Codemasters announced that the focus of F1 2011 is to 'Be the Driver, Live the Life, Go Compete'.[citation needed] and that multiplayer aspects of the game are being emphasized as a part of this. Online multiplayer have a maximum of sixteen players in a race with the option to include an additional eight AI-controlled cars. Objectives are also included in multiplayer. A split-screen multiplayer mode is implemented, as is an online co-operative championship. In August 2011, Codemasters announced that the safety car would be implemented in the game following its absence in F1 2010, and that it would be available in races that are 20% of real race distance or longer.[5] Red flags are also included for situations where the safety car cannot get around the track, but not for extreme weather conditions.[6] Rule changes for the 2011 season, including KERS, DRS and Pirelli tyres are also featured in the game.

Features[edit]

Features of the game include a career mode in which the player makes a driver and simulates the driving experience.[7] Another mode is the Grand Prix in which one picks a professional driver and create a Formula 1 season.[8] There is also a 'Proving Grounds' mode in which is a time trial to compete against other players around the world.[9] There is also a Multiplayer option in which one can race with other players in a variety of gaming modes.[10]

The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions received 'favorable' reviews, while the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS versions received 'mixed or average reviews', according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[35][36][37][38][39]

Early critical response was positive, with reviews praised improvements in handling and AI and the way new rule changes - in particular KERS and DRS - added an additional layer of strategy to the game.[13]IGN remarked that the differences in using these features helped separate qualifying and racing into two separate gameplay modes.[24] In Japan, where the game was ported for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 6 October 2011, for PC on the following day, for PlayStation Vita on 17 December 2011, and for Nintendo 3DS on 22 December 2011,[citation needed]Famitsu gave the game a score of one nine, one eight, one seven and one eight for the first two console versions;[15] and one eight, two sevens and one six for the final two handheld versions.[14]

The Guardian gave the Xbox 360 version a score of four stars out of five and said it was 'pretty much an essential purchase for any self-respecting petrol-head, and a lot more compelling and enticing than those who don't dream about lap times might imagine.'[40]The Daily Telegraph similarly gave the same console version four stars out of five, saying that 'Codemasters have made a plethora of improvements under the bonnet, polishing an engine that should prove a fantastic basis for the planned yearly iterations of their F1 franchise.'[31]The Digital Fix gave the PlayStation 3 version a score of eight out of ten, calling it 'a great racer but only a nearly-great game.'[41]

Digital Spy gave said PlayStation 3 version a similar score of four stars out of five, saying that 'It's not a wholesale reinvention, but rather a confident leap forward from a publisher in tune with its sport. The career mode lacks a bit of personality, but it's still a good frame for what is most important - the racing.'[33] The website also gave the PlayStation Vita version three stars out of five and called it 'a laudable attempt at scaling down a sophisticated simulation racer for a handheld platform, but it would have benefited from stronger AI and more challenge. In its defense, it caters well for newcomers due to its casual Challenges mode and forgiving level of difficulty, but still falls marginally short of expectations.'[34] However, the same website also gave the Nintendo 3DS version two stars out of five and said, 'Sumo Digital should be commended for its attempts to pack as much as humanely possible into a Nintendo 3DS game. However, despite its wealth of options, game modes and extras, F1 2011 fails where it counts most, on the race track.'[32]

F1 2011 has sold 3.5 million units worldwide as in the sales. The decline of western civilization streaming ita.

Last year's well-received F1 2010 was Codemasters doing what Codemasters does best: unadulterated, realistic racing. It was a hard-nosed brute of a title, a world away from the fun but shallow DiRT 2 – its stablemate at the time.
F1 2010 was an entirely different beast; tough, authentic and laser-focussed. It was ultimately the more satisfying of the two, requiring significant dedication to wring success from it. It wasn't without its foibles but the crew at Codemasters Birmingham had embraced and recreated the world of Formula 1 better than any developer previously.
Enter F1 2011. It'd take quite a cynic to be concerned the sequel to the BAFTA Award-winning F1 2010 would be poorer than its predecessor, and it's not. F1 2011 is more of a confident step forward than a giant leap, but it's an improvement nonetheless.

The+game+looks+its+best+in+wet+weather.

The first order of business here has clearly been a spoonful of cement, because F1 2011 has hardened up significantly. F1 2010 was cruel on the uninitiated. F1 2011 is downright merciless.
Returning fans of F1 2010 will note the changes to the handling, which are all for the better. Cars in F1 2011 feel far less twitchy; fixes to the suspension and aero models have obviously helped greatly. F1 2011's updated aero seems to better communicate weight (crucial considering the aerodynamic elements on an F1 car can produce as much as three times the car's weight in downforce) and the suspension tweaks have meant superior handling at slower speeds. The results are pleasing across the board. High speed handling feels more authentic, with a suitably heavy feel to cars travelling at extreme velocity, and low speed corners feel more manageable thanks to boosted mechanical grip.
F1 2011 is a better reflection of the characteristics of a real F1 car than F1 2010, but that isn't what has made the game harder. In fact, the learning curve for this year's version is more accommodating than last year's. Because of this increased authenticity the cars arguably feel a little less unpredictable and are therefore easier to master. Improved feedback means you can better find and feel the limits of your car. It's something you'll notice when you really begin to attack the kerbs and discover you can snap your car out of a threatening slide if you catch the tail in time.
What makes F1 2011 so ruthless, rather, is the opposition AI. There wasn't anything particularly faulty about the AI in F1 2010 but here in F1 2011 it's more adaptive and seems to better respond to your actions on track. They're aggressive, quick and they will catch you napping, but they won't attack at the expense of damaging their own vehicle.
Above everything your approach to F1 2011 must be methodical. F1 is a complex motorsport and F1 2011 is a fittingly complex game. If you want to win here you need to be committed. Activate the game's full suite of driving aids and dial down the opponent difficulty to its lowest setting and, after getting to grips with the handling, you should be able to dominate. However, played how it ought to be played (with limited to no aids and more tenacious opposition) F1 2011 is a feral mustang that'll take more than a few lengthy sittings to tame. Even at medium difficulty the AI drivers will push you to the absolute limit.
You need to learn every track – and there are 19 of them (including the new Buddh International Circuit in India) so it'll take a while. You need to know which corners you can take flat out and which ones you can't. Brake, or even feather the throttle for a moment, on a corner you should be relying on speed and downforce to get you around without slowing down and your rivals will chew you up. A dynamic driving line can be switched on to help here.
Above all you need to become comfortable with the fact that, at least when the game begins, finishing in first is not a requirement, it's not expected and frankly it's just not possible. Players shouldn't really get their first wins in F1 2011 until they have a car with the capacity to get out in front and the skills to drive it consistently quick.
