As the game begins, you're left to fend off a pack of Heishi samurai. After killing the first group, a second group will appear and chase you down the hill. Once the ensuing cutscene is over, head up the hill to the right, through a wooden gate to return up the hill. You'll encounter more enemies before finding a pot you can break to reveal a Potion of Power.
You can continue up the hill to return to where you started the game, or simply backtrack to continue down the hillside. You'll encounter even more enemies and find a jar you can destroy to find a Kurama Herb 24 7 twenty four seven. before continuing to the next area.
Fight through another pack of samurai as you move forward. Jump down the cliffside and make use of the save point nearby. Continue down the hill to arrive at the base of a waterfall. Before you move forward, turn left and jump up the hillside. You'll find the Iron Sword in a chest which is a more powerful weapon than the one you've currently got equipped. Equip the new weapon, then jump back down the waterfall to reach ground level. When you've returned to the base of the waterfall, head forward to encounter more samurai.
This batch of samurai is headed up by one powerful enemy whose life is represented by the bar at the bottom of the screen. You can muscle your way through the fight, using air combos (jump and press the special attack button to lunge, then hit the normal attack to continue the air combo) and ground slashes to work through the lower enemies to get a clearer shot at the samurai leader. However, now is a good time to make use of other skills you possess.
Press L1 to summon your Kamui powers. For more information on Kamui, read up in the Basics portion of this guide. When you initiate the Kamui, you'll first fight off the swarm of lesser samurai, slaying them one-by-one, until finally the head honcho attacks you. If you execute the Kamui flawlessly, you'll bring the samurai near to death. Follow up with a quick combo before he can summon more henchmen to finish him off and complete the stage.
